a canoe trip on Lower Saranac Lake to Middle Saranac Lake by Tim Jacobs (twjacobs_at_gmail.com): What you see here is a track I've captured with my Garmin etrex Legend. Since we came through this section going to the camp site and coming back, you see two tracks - one for each direction. This section is the Saranac River that connects the two lakes. There is a self operated lock that you can see in the screenshot. The background map is a topo, freely available through the NYS GIS clearinghouse web page. One can get a topo of any place in New York state from that site.
